Shedding the Baggage of Shame

May 24, 2020    Justin Ulrich    Luke 15:11-31

Guilt and shame are different. Shame goes a layer deeper. Shame has to do with identity. It is an attack on our worth. Shame is the belief that we are inherently flawed and unworthy of love. The two main expressions of shame are hiding and striving, and both of these are antithetical to faith. Shame releases when it meets acceptance. You can be free from shame because of the work of Christ on the cross.
